BOX-IT Assembly

Build it upright, in the place it will live, from the floor up, then fix the top to the wall. The pictures show the unit from the front and loop, so watch each one through before you pick up the parts.

How it goes together. Every upright is a stack of 25 mm box section posts. Each post ends in a flat plate with a narrower sleeve standing up from it. The sleeve passes up through a hole in the shelf, the plate is screwed to the underside of the shelf, a dress flange tidies the hole on top, and the next post slides down over the sleeve. At the top an elbow turns back to the wall. The floor carries the weight and the wall fixing stops the unit tipping.

What's in the kit

The feet are fixed plates. If your floor is not level, contact us and we will send 1 mm and 2 mm shims to pack under the legs.

Before you start. Read every step first. This is a job for two adults: until the top is fixed to the wall, one person must steady the unit while the other builds. Unpack the timber and the steel next to where the unit will stand, and check the parts against the list above. Use only the fixings supplied for the steel-to-timber joints.

Looking after it

  • Dust with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
  • Blot spills straight away and wipe with a clean, damp cloth.
  • Do not use chemical cleaners, abrasives or furniture polish on the timber or the steel.
