If we made it wrong, we put it right

Where a manufacturing defect is confirmed, we decide the right remedy with you. That may be a repair, a refurbishment or a replacement of the affected part.

The guarantee is for normal use in the home. Commercial use is covered only where we have agreed it in writing.

Timber · 2 years

What counts as excessive movement

  • Structural cracks wider than 3mm
  • Warping of more than 1% of the width of the surface (for example, more than 10mm across a 1,000mm top)
  • Steps of more than 2mm between joined boards

Depending on the piece, we may repair it at your home, refurbish it in our workshop, adjust or reinforce it, or repair or replace the affected part.

Good to know

Real timber moves a little. That is normal.

Solid timber responds to humidity, temperature and the seasons. In winter, central heating dries the air and timber contracts, so small gaps or fine hairline shakes can become easier to see. In warmer, more humid months it expands and they often close again.

These fine, surface-level marks follow the grain and are part of the character of rustic timber. They are not defects and do not affect the strength of your furniture.

To keep movement to a minimum, keep your furniture away from radiators, fires, wood burners and long spells of direct sunlight, and follow our care guide.

  • Finishes damaged by unsuitable cleaning products, or by not following the care guide
  • Alterations or repairs we have not authorised

Cancellations and returns

You can ask to cancel within 14 days of placing your order. Because most of our furniture is made to order, once work has started on yours we may need to keep reasonable costs, and a finished order cannot normally be cancelled.

Where we agree to take a piece back at our discretion, a restocking charge of up to 20% of the order value may apply, along with delivery and collection costs.
