A slab of character for the first thing you see when you get home.
A chunky solid top on two wide plank legs. No frame, no rails, nothing between you and the timber. Just reclaimed elm with aged character in every board, built to stand in a hallway for a lifetime.
- Solid all the way through. A 5cm top on 5cm plank legs, all solid reclaimed elm, not a veneer over board.
- Every top is one of a kind. Knots, nicks and patches in the wood mean no two consoles are alike.
- In stock now. Dispatched in 3–5 working days, with free UK mainland delivery.
- Up in ten minutes. Two legs, six bolts each, with an illustrated guide.
Why reclaimed elm.
Elm is a dense hardwood with a fine, tight grain, and reclaimed boards carry an aged character no new timber can copy. It's the timber we recommend above all others.
Aged character in every board
Small dark pin knots, nicks and the odd patch are part of the timber's past. They're what makes your console yours.
A dense, heavy hardwood
The top and legs are 5cm thick. Pick up a corner and you'll feel the difference: the 140cm console weighs 22kg.
Simple lines, nothing to hide
A slab top on two plank legs. The fixings sit hidden underneath, so all you see is the wood.
Where will yours go?
All three lengths share the same slim 35cm depth, so they sit close to the wall and leave room to walk past.
Natural, hand finished under clear wax.
A clean matte finish, closest to the raw elm. It lets the grain, pin knots and the aged character of every board do the talking, and sits easily with painted panelling, stone floors and warm oak alike.
Use coasters and mats for hot drinks and plants. Our care guide covers the rest.
Hidden fixings. Rock-solid stance.
Each leg carries a steel plate that drops into a recess routed into the underside of the top, so it sits flush and can only go in one way. Six bolts hold each plate: three either side of the leg.
- Lay the top face down on a blanket.
- Drop each leg's plate into its recess.
- Bolt it in, three either side, and turn it over with a second person.
Made to last, and covered if it doesn't.

Good to know before you order.
Will mine look like the photos?
It will have the same shape, size and finish, but the grain, knots and patches are unique to every top. That's the point of reclaimed elm: no two are alike.
How is it delivered, and when?
It's in stock and dispatched in 3–5 working days, with free delivery to the UK mainland. Order by 11 December for Christmas delivery.
Does it need assembling?
Just the two legs. Each one has a steel plate that drops into a recess under the top and fixes with six bolts. It takes about 10 minutes, and a second person helps when you turn it over. See the guide.
How big and heavy is it?
All sizes are 35cm deep, with a 5cm thick top and 5cm thick plank legs. Lengths are 100, 140 and 180cm, at 80 or 90cm high. They weigh about 18, 22 and 26kg. Open the size guide in the buy box for leg spacing.
Which height should I choose?
80cm is the standard console height and suits most hallways and sofas. 90cm sits near worktop height, good behind a tall sofa or as a serving table.
Can I get a different size?
Yes. Our made-to-measure consoles come in lengths from 80 to 300cm and are made in 4–6 weeks.
How do I look after it?
Wipe with a dry or slightly damp cloth, and use coasters and mats for hot drinks, plants and vases. Our care guide has more.
