Delivery is to the ground floor only. All orders are very carefully wrapped with cardboard and additional corner and side protection and fragile tape added to avoid damage in transit.

How your table is made

Weeks 1–5

Steel legs fabricated

Your leg design is cut from 80 × 40 mm mild steel box section and hand-welded by our welding team. Welds penetrate the steel — unbreakable joints. Legs then go for powder coating in your chosen finish.

Weeks 6–7

Timber selected & top made

Our joiners hand-pick boards for grain and colour match, then cut, joint and strengthen your table top. Every plank in your table shares a family — batched together from the start.

Weeks 7–8

Hand finished

Two coats of Fiddes wax (or hard wax oil), applied and hand-buffed by our finishing team. Every top is inspected before it leaves the finishing bench.

Weeks 8–10

Packed & delivered

Wrapped and boxed by our packing team, then delivered by our dedicated two-man courier team. We call to book a delivery slot with you.

How do I choose between reclaimed elm and rustic pine?

Both are the same price — reclaimed elm is a free upgrade. Elm is denser and stronger with a fine straight grain and small dark pin knots. Pine is warmer in tone with distinctive round dark knots and, on Rustic Weathered, arced Swedish saw marks. Order samples from Complete the Set above to see both in person.

What's the difference between Rustic Weathered and Modern Planed?

Rustic Weathered keeps the surface texture from the original planing — subtle marks across the face that catch the wax and give the top character. Modern Planed removes them for a smoother, more refined top. Same timber, same wax colours — the difference is the surface.

How much space do I need around a 180 × 110 table?

Industry rule of thumb: leave 90 cm clearance on each side so chairs can pull out comfortably. A 180 × 110 table therefore needs a room space of at least 360 × 290 cm. Extending? Add the leaf length to your table dimension, not to the clearance.

Can you match a specific RAL colour on the legs?

Yes — any RAL colour, powder-coated, for a £100 surcharge. Ideal for matching kitchen cabinets, radiators or a design accent. Send us the RAL code at checkout in the order notes, or we'll email you after order confirmation to confirm your choice.

What's your delivery process for larger tables?

Free UK mainland delivery on every table via our dedicated two-man courier team. We contact you 3–5 days before shipping to book a convenient day. Saturday delivery included at no surcharge across most of UK mainland. 5-minute set-up on arrival with the supplied fixings.

How do I care for the finish long-term?

Wax Polish tables benefit from an occasional wax refresh with the Fiddes Wax Care Pack (in Complete the Set above). Hard Wax Oil tables need less maintenance — the finish is more durable to spills and heat. Always use coasters and place mats to protect the finish under hot or wet items.

Can I cancel or return my order?

Cancellations within 14 days of ordering. Once production has started (material ordering, cutting, jointing, finishing, packing) a restocking fee of up to 20% may apply. See our Terms & Conditions for full details.
