Although our old barn stools are made to a standard size specification no two old barn stools will have the same colour and natural patina to the wood. All of our stools are made from reclaimed elm so with that comes some natural differences in finish.

STOOL SIZES

The Character

We like wood most when it has character. As each of our old barn rustic stools are handcrafted from reclaimed elm barn doors, each one is unique and you will find different grains and colours in each gorgeous stool.

A beautiful eye-catcher in any living room,  wet room, bedroom, or bath room.

Naturally weathered by weather and time, the old barn utility stool will add rustic charm to any room.

Robust & Waterproof

These stools have been designed to be both waterproof and robust. The traditional stool design with cross members creates a strong stool that will hold up to 120kg in weight.

Each stool has been finished with an oil that penetrates the grain ensuring a translucent waterproof finish and adding practicality to its multitude of uses as they can also be used to sit on in showers or wetrooms.

Made using Old Barn doors

Exclusive to Acumen Collection, the Old Barn collection of stools are made using a traditional construction method out of reclaimed elm barn doors.

We only sell beautiful products that are made from reclaimed or sustainably sourced materials. The illegal felling of trees is the number 1 environmental crime on a global scale and is a crime that is causing the destruction of forests across our planet. Deforestation is a reality that affects us significantly.

Recycled Materials

The future of the planet is in our hands. Supporting small enterprises and the local economy is key to a more sustainable world and fairer society. That’s why we only work with craftsmen who make all our products by hand, with the passion that only people who love their craft possess.

We simply can’t ignore uncontrolled deforestation and the terrible impact it has on the planet. We believe the best tree is that which is not felled at all, which is why we prioritise the use of recovered wood to make our furniture and avoid the need to extract natural materials.

The Old Barn Utility Rustic Stool is a large rustic stool in reclaimed elm, with a 40mm top and 60mm legs. It suits a spot beside a fireplace or bath, or anywhere a side table is needed.

Three heights: 50, 55 or 60cm, each 40cm wide. Made to a standard size and finish; rustic wear, colour and patina vary from stool to stool. Weight load 120kg.
