Our box section steel frames are meticulously hand welded using high-quality British steel and are available in two stunning finishes.

Choose from raw steel with visible welds finished in rust proof clear lacquer or powder coated black.

  • FIXINGS - SCREWS AND WALL

You will receive a fixing pack specific to your frame type with your order. We also offer an optional L bracket that can be fitted to the underneath of the table to fix to a wall.

The Arundel is our square-frame console table: a 45 mm solid pine top on two slim steel frames, made to your exact length in our Cumbrian workshop.

Each end stands on a closed rectangular frame of 25 × 25 mm steel box section, welded by hand. From the front you see just one slim upright at each end, so the space underneath stays open for baskets, stools or a radiator. The frames can sit anywhere from 5 to 25 cm in from each end of the top, and you choose exactly where when you fit them. Most people go 10 cm in, which leaves 95 cm between the legs on a 120 cm console.

The top is FSC certified, kiln-dried Scandinavian redwood in rustic weathered or modern planed, finished by hand in one of seven waxes. The frame comes in raw steel with a clear lacquer, or matte black powder coat.

Lengths from 80 to 300 cm, 20 or 22 cm deep, 75 or 90 cm high including the top. Open the size guide for every measurement.

We carefully and generously apply two coats of Premium Fiddes Wax polish to all our wooden products.

Alternatively, if you are looking to colour match to existing furniture please contact us direct to discuss this. If you provide us with images of the furniture you would like us to colour match to we can let you know which of our wax finishes is the closest match.

  • Rustic weathered offers a coarser grained finish with areas where the wax grabs. There is a slight concave side/hump on our rustic weathered table tops but they are still practical for every day use. 

  • Modern planed provides a sleek smooth perfectly flat finish that adds a contemporary sleek touch to the console table.

We use 25 × 25 mm steel box section (2.5 mm wall), welded by hand so the welds go right through the steel.

Raw steel with a rust-proof clear lacquer as standard, or matte black powder coat for +£15.

An optional small L bracket fixes the top to the wall for extra stability.

FAQs

The X frame and trapezium make a statement. The square frame and C frame are neater for narrow hallways. The two-tier Warwick adds a lower shelf for storage.

Order £2 wood samples and see the seven waxes in your own light. We send them within 3–5 working days.

The top and the frames are self-assembly and come as separate parcels. Both go by APC next day and we send them together, so they normally arrive on the same day.

The console legs take around 5 minutes to attach to the table top using the fixings provided.

Although all the materials to manufacture this piece are in stock this item is handmade to order. The lead time therefore reflects that. See top of page for lead time info.

Yes. Every console comes with a 25-year manufacturing guarantee and a 2-year timber warranty.

If you wish to return your items you must contact us within 14 days of purchase. If the Goods require collection, we will collect them from the address to which they were delivered. However, you may be charged with a restocking fee. Your refund will be processed after the product is returned to our warehouse and thoroughly inspected. We will contact you to arrange a suitable time for collection;

Yes if you give us enough notice and the lead time is achievable by our workshop we will book the courier in advance so that we can guarantee you delivery on your required day.

Yes we can supply these console table units in bulk, however the lead times may need to be extended depending on stock levels. Please email us with your bulk order request.
